 1. City Palace

The majestic white City Palace located in the heart of Udaipur, was originally built by Maharana Udai Singh of the Sisodia Rajput clan and extended to its present form by subsequent Maharanas. Built in granite and marble and surrounded by crenellated fort walls, the largest palace complex in Rajasthan stands on a crest overlooking the Pichola Lake.

2. Lake Palace

The Lake Palace is one of the most beautiful palaces in the world, arising out of the Turquoise Waters of the Pichola like an elegant fantasy in white marble. The Lake palace was built in the 17th century on a natural foundation of 4 acers of rock. It was initially called Jaginwas after its founder Maharana Jagjit Singh. 

Lake Palace is a luxury hotel 83 rooms including 17 beautiful suites and 53 Deluxe rooms. The rooms and the suites of the hotel are beautifully designed; each having a particular theme & decorated with textiles and handicrafts of the region. The hotel operates a boat which transports guests to the hotel from a jetty at the City Palace.

3. Jag Mandir Palace

Jag Mandir Palace is a beautiful palace located on the southern island of Lake Pichola. The three-storied Palace is a palatial structure made in yellow sandstone and marble.

The Jag Mandir is approached only by boat from the Bansi Ghat jetty next to the Lake Palace in Udaipur. Udaipur is well connected by road, rail and air links with the rest of the country.

4. Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal

Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandal in Udaipur is a folk-art museum showcasing a rich collection of puppets, dolls, masks, folk dresses, ornaments, musical instruments, and paintings. The museum is admired for its cultural performances. The exciting and colorful folk performances organized in the museum act as one of the major draws for tourists who come here. The nightly puppet shows, which run for about 15 minutes, are cute and very much admired among small children.

5. Maharana Pratap Memorial


The state of Rajasthan in India is a storehouse of history. This characteristic of the state has been enhanced a great deal by Udaipur. The city tells its visitors, a lot about the various dynasties especially Rajputs, who have ruled in the past. Moreover, Udaipur, like most other Cities in Rajasthan, exhibits the affluence and outstanding expertise that is depicted by Rajasthani art and architecture. 6. Monsoon Palace

Sajjangarh, also known as Monsoon Palace located at a peak Bansdara Mountain as high as about 944 m above the sea level, is a gigantic palace overlooking the famous Pichola Lake. The palace’s construction was started in 1883 by Maharana Sajjan Singh, the palace was used as summer retreat for Mewar Kings and also as a Monsoon Palace, to watch the progress of Monsoon clouds.

The palace is located at a scenic spot, views of Aravalli mountains and Pitchola lake from the Palace is really enchanting. This palace continues as a popular tourist’s destination due to its historical importance and marvelous architecture.

7. Sukhadia Circle

Sukhadia Circle, also known as Sukhadia square, is a majestic turn around in Panchwati, the Udaipur city’s northern suburb. It is a popular landmark in Udaipur and provides a beautiful view with the illumination of lights.
Built in 1968, this well-known landmark commemorates the memory of Mohan Lal Sukhadia, the erstwhile Chief Minister of Rajasthan and a native of Udaipur. It is a popular recreational centre.

This square attracts many, especially children. Children make funs in the lawns and float toy boats in the pond. There are some duck shaped paddle boats and toy trains for children’s amusement.

8. Jagdish Temple

Maharana Jagat Singh built this temple between 1628-1653 at a whopping cost of Rs 1.5 million. Udaipur temple tour will take your to Jagdish temple, the famous temple of Udaipur, dedicated to Lord Jagannath, is at a great height and can be approached by a long flight of stairs.
The entrance to the temple is flanked by two massive stone elephants. The temple has a pyramidal spire (shikar), a vestible (mandap) and a porch. The spire is about 79ft high and is decorated with friezes of dancers, musicians, elephants and horsemen.
The temple is a three storeyed structure and has 50 pillars each in the first and second storeys and is one of the largest and popular Vishnu temples in Northern India.

9. Fateh Sagar Lake


To be found to the north of Lake Pichola, Maharana Jai Singh as a medium-sized perennial storage reservoir originally built the pretty Fateh Sagar Lake of Udaipur in 1678. Hills on three sides and Pratap Memorial on the fourth surround it and thus it presents captivating scenery. Since it had been destroyed due to heavy rains, Maharana Fateh Singh took it upon himself to bear the pains and expenditure of reconstructing the dam and it was in honor of his contributions to the place that the lake was named after him.
          Udaipur tours are near incomplete without luxury tours to the manmade Fateh Sagar Lake. Though the perennial Fateh Sagar Lake in Udaipur was dug for irrigational purposes, the reservoir serves as a source of drinking water and a popular Udaipur tourist destination.

10. Lake Pichola

Pichola Lake is one of the most beautiful and picturesque lakes of Rajasthan, India. Located in the heart of the city, Pichola Lake is the oldest and one of the largest lakes of Udaipur. In 1362, the beautiful lake was built by Pichhu Banjara during the ruling period of Maharana Lakha. Talking about the dimensions of Pichhola Lake, it is extended to 3 miles in length, 2 miles in width and has depth of 30 feet.

11. Saheliyon Ki Bari


Saheliyon Ki Bari is one the most beautiful gardens and a major tourist destination in Udaipur. The garden is famous for its lush green lawns, marble art and fountains. English translation of Saheliyon Ki Bari means "Garden of maids". This renowned garden is located on the banks of Fateh Sagar Lake, presenting a green retreat in the dry lands of Rajasthan. Garden of maids was built in the 18th century by Maharana Sangram Singh for the royal ladies. 
      The main reservoir at Saheliyon ki Bari is flanked by four black marble royal cenotaphs on four corners with sculpted birds on the roofs spurting water from their beaks.

12Gulab Bagh and Zoo


A rose garden laid out by Maharaja Sajjan Singh is situated near the palace on the east side of Lake Pichhola. A library in the garden has a collection of ancient handwritten manuscripts and books. Some of the part of the Satyarth Prakash have been written in this library. Styarth Prakash stup is situated in Gulab Bagh. Within the garden, there is a zoo with tigers, leopards, Chinkara gazelle, birds, and many wild animals. Children can enjoy mini train, track of which covers the main part of the garden and the zoo.



While you are enjoying this beautiful scenery, you can leave your kids to enjoy their much loved amusement. It is a toy train in the premises of the garden that would be cherished by your child. The garden also comprises a small zoo that has number of animals like chinkara, leopards, tigers and birds.

13. Doodh Talai

Doodh Talai is a small lake that adores the south-east direction of Pichola Lake. Located in the southern side of Shiv Niwas Palace, Dudh Talai contributes to the waters of Lake Pichola. This stream adds to the picturesque triangle in the company of Pichola on one side, Doodh Talai on the second and M.L. Verma Garden on the third.

14. Ropeway

Ropeway in udaipur is newly introduced and most important tourist attraction in udaipur. It is installed between two mountains right on the bank of lake pichola. The view from the cars is breath taking and if you have passion for photography you must not miss this. It from here that you can click best view of udaipur including lake pichola, lake fateh sagar, magnificent city palace complex, sajjangarh fort and above all artistic landscaped aravali mountains on the other side of the lake. 15. Nehru Garden

This is a park situated in the middle of Fateh Sager Lake. This park covers about 41 acres, with flower gardens and a lily pond. It was inaugurated on the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. The garden overlooks the ancient Moti Mahal of Maharana Pratap and gives a view of the Aravalli hills on three sides.
        Nehru garden is beautifully developed by PWd and is located in the island of Fateh sagar Lake. Boating facility is available to get in the park.

16. Bagore-ki-Haveli 


This is a very congenial old building built right on the waterfront of Lake Pichola at Gangori Ghat. Amir Chand Badwa, the Prime Minister of Mewar built it in the eighteenth century. The palace has over hundred rooms and some very interesting display of costumes and modern art. The glass and mirror in the interiors of the Haveli delicate work and well preserved too. It also preserves a fine example of Mewar Painting on the walls of Queen's Chamber. The two peacocks made from small pieces of colored glasses are fine examples of glasswork.
The haveli now stages delightful evening's entertainment; the pleasurable performance of Rajasthani traditional dance and music in the moody surroundings of the haveli. It is an ideal place for an evening entertainment while enjoying the view of Lake Pichola.

17. Shilpgram

Shilpgram Mela is held annually in the west of the city of Udaipur. Shilpgram Crafts Fair is organized to promote art and craft of Rajasthan. Since, Rajasthan has always been famous for its handicrafts and artwork; this fair is a perfect destination to try out the hand woven clothes, embroideries, mirror works and handicrafts. The hand woven clothes and camel leather items grab the major attention of visitors in this fair. 
While you would shop and explore handicrafts, various musicians and dancers will entertain you with their respective arts. Shilpgram Crafts Mela is certainly a sincere effort to give recognition to the local arts of remote villages of Rajasthan.  18. Vintage Cars Museum

The collection within the grounds of the Garden Hotel comprises a variety of classic and interestingly rare transportation vehicles; some stately and vintage like Cadalec, Chevalate, Morais etc., while the others are sleek and fast.

The Maharanas of Udaipur once possessed and used these regal splendours of automobiles as their luxuries but most of the other models are gradually being added to the collection ,since it provides a unique aristocratic safari for the exclusive guests.

 19. Neemach Mata Temple

Neemach Mata Temple is an 800 meter (2667 feet) trek up a wooded hill on the bank of Fateh Sagar Lake in the Dewali area of Udaipur. You can either take the staircase to the hilltop or climb up the slope. Inside the temple, the main shrine is that of Neemach Mata Devi, in addition to a Ganesha idol and three west facing stone-carved lions. You will find a spacious courtyard like area outside the inner temple used for performing yagna. Important Hindu festivals such as Deepavali, Navratri and Dussehra are celebrated at this temple with great enthusiastic favor. Once at the top, behold a breathtaking panorama of Fateh Sagar Lake, Udaipur city on its banks and a pale shadow of the Aravallis in the distance. The hilltop is also a vantage point to view a spectacular sunrise and sunset in Udaipur.

 Attractions Around Udaipur
    * Nathdwara - Shri Nathdwara (a pathway to Lord Shri Krishna) lies 48 km from Udaipur and literally means the gateway to the Lord. Devotees throng the shrine in large numbers during occasions of "Janmashtmi", the day of the Lord's birth, and other festivals like Holi. It is famous for its 'pichwai' paintings, with Shri Krishna in the centre and is recognized for profuse use of gold colour.

    * Ranakpur - A village that is home to one of the most important Jain temples.[citation needed] 1400+ marble pillars support the temple. Opposite the Jain temple is the much older Sun Temple. Located in Rajsamand District, 110 km north of Udaipur.

    * Chittorgarh- About 140 km from Udaipur, Chittorgarh was the capital of Mewar from 734 AD to 1559. Chittorgarh Fort is a massive fort situated on a hilltop near Chittorgarh town in Rajasthan state in India.

    * Haldighati - A mountain pass in Rajsamand District that hosted the battle between Rana Pratap Singh of Mewar and the Mughal emperor Akbar. Now a memorial site.

    * Kumbhalgarh - A 15th-century fortress, built by Rana Kumbha of Mewar, with 36 kilometres of walls. Over 360 temples are within the fort. It also has a wildlife sanctuary. Located in Rajsamand District, 64 km from Udaipur. The vista from the top of the palace typically extends tens of kilometers into the Aravalli hills.

    * Mount Abu - A popular tourist hill station.

    * Eklingji - Eklingji is a temple complexes situated nearly 22 km in the north of Udaipur. It was built in 734 A.D. and consists of 108 temples chiseled out of sandstone and marbles; it is devoted to the royal family of Mewar.

    * Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary - This is located in the most rugged of the Aravali in Pali, Rajsamand and Udaipur districts of Rajasthan. It takes its name after the historic fort of Kumbhalgarh, which comes into view over the Park. It is 578 km² in area and at an altitude of 500 to 1,300 metres. It is home to a very large variety of wildlife, some of which are highly endangered species. The wildlife includes wolf, leopards, sloth bear, hyena, jackal, jungle cat, smabhar, nilgai, chaisingh (the four horned antelope), chinkara, and hare.

    * Rishabhdeo: also known as "Kesariya ji" or "Kala Baoji" Famous Jain pilgrimage center sacred to Jains and local tribals.
